Technology Professional, Software Support Guru, Team Leader, Junior Web Developer, Customer Support Specialist, Entrepreneur and more. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems with a specialization in Technical Management. Currently working in Chicago, Illinois as the Executive Director of a startup nonprofit web development apprenticeship organization.
In summary what this means is that I am able to guide end users of technology, strategically align the needs of business professionals with relevant software applications, assist developers with creating the code that drives these applications while leading a team to success – all while paying it forward.
My blog will cover the right and left brained schemes and daily hurdles that I encounter as I climb the corporate and not so corporate career path in the tech industry. While not fitting the stereo-type and having a unique skill set I look forward to the challenges and opportunities that are to come. I like to think that I am able to strike the perfect balance of technical know-how while maintaining my naturally intuitive nature. With a background in real estate, IT, software and the service industry I hope to bring technology to those who could most benefit from it.
My passion project is to bring the gift of code and technology to the many under-represented communities in the USA, like my hometown of Gary, Indiana – with a special focus on getting more females of color in tech. Hopefully, there will be plenty of posts to this blog that show progress in that area.
I truly believe that technology will serve as the catalyst for people in poverty to change their lifestyles, both individually and as a community. If I could contribute to that progress in anyway… I will know I have made a difference in this world.
Even with all this going on I do find time to indulge in my favorite past times such as attending advanced movie screenings, avid reader of self-improvement books, I absolutely love dogs and not to mention I am a mom, wife, and daughter. I post to social media often and with conviction so follow me if you dare!
I hope you enjoy reading my blog posts as much as I enjoy posting them…. feel free to leave me a comment and I’ll do my best to respond in a timely manner.
